Apple cider vinegar is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and this is why it is used for many different purposes. Soak a cotton ball with apple cider vinegar and then apply to the hemorrhoids two to three times a day. After three or four days you should see a difference and they should be almost gone by a week to ten days.
Use a sitz bath to clean the area, manage symptoms, and keep inflammation down. When you soak in warm water for 15 minutes two to three times a day and after every bowel movement you will help to keep the area clean, avoiding infection which will just cause more problems. Sitz baths will also help you feel more comfortable afterwards and will be better than wiping with toilet paper which can cause more irritation.
Get a stool and place it in front of the toilet. Placing a six inch high stool in front of the toilet will help you get in a better position for defecating. When you sit with your feet on the ground you actually have to strain more. Instead of straining, pull your feet up on the stool. This will help to relieve the pressure placed on the already inflamed and irritated area, which will enable the healing process.
